Al-Madinah city in Saudi Arabia is of high religious importance to the Muslims. Prophet Mohammad immigrated to this city from Makkah. People of this city supported and fought alongside Prophet Muhammad and were instrumental in spreading Islam in neighboring places. There are a number of important buildings and structures in this city like the Islamic University, the Mosque of Prophet Mohammad and King Fahd complex. Masjid Al Quba, Islam’s first mosque is situated in Madinah.

There are 95 names of Madinah, a few of them are Al-Jaberah, Dar Al-Fateh, Al-Mubarakah, Taibah, Al-Mubarakah, Dar Al-Akhyar, Dar Al-Abrar, Dhat Al-Nakhl, Tabah, Al-Mu''mina and Dar Al-Sunnah.

Al-Madinah is bordered by mountains and is a desert oasis. There are references to Al-Madinah is several ancient scriptures. It is believed that this place was inhabited by North and South Arabs about thousand years before the birth of Christ.

The climate in and around Madinah is continental and hot in nature with little rainfall and low humidity. The Mediterranean Sea, situated towards the north of this place has its influence in the climate as well. Summers are hot with around 36 to 45 degree Celsius and little or no rainfall. The temperature during the winter months varies between 15 and 20 degree Celsius, with rainfall mainly during the months of November and January.
