Jurong Bird Park Singapore houses more than 8, 000 birds of 600 species and specializes in tropical birds, endangered birds, water birds, flightless birds and birds from Southeast Asia. When the park was still under construction, the officials of the park urges the foreign diplomats and dignitaries in Singapore to contribute birds from their countries for the park, which saw a positive response. By the inaugural day of the park, 12 countries, 7 zoos and 40 private donors contributed to the Jurong Bird Park.
